Dr. Ashleigh Howlett has opened Ponsonby Teeth in the inner city community where she lives; she and her team are on a mission to make dental care relaxed and easy.
Growing up, Ashleigh did not enjoy going to the dentist but when she started to study health science at university, this all changed. Fascinated by the impact that our teeth and smiles have on our daily lives, Ashleigh began to understand how vital good dentistry is, and how rewarding it is to help care for those precious teeth. What followed was a lifelong obsession with smiles (of all shapes and sizes) and a deep passion for dentistry.
After graduating from Otago University with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (with Distinction), Ashleigh spent the next decade in dental practices in both Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. It’s during these years that she developed her philosophy of ‘patient-driven care’, an approach that lies at the heart of Ponsonby Teeth.
Ashleigh and her team are re-imagining the dental experience and proudly setting a new standard for care.
Dr. Saskia Saetrum
General Dentist
Graduating almost a decade ago, Dr. Saskia Saetrum has deep experience in, knowledge of, and passion for dentistry. Though she loves all parts of our craft, some of Saskia's specialist areas include implants, endodontics, complex treatments and sedation dentistry.
Saskia is an outdoor enthusiast who, after working all over the country, has happily settled into our local neighbourhood. When she’s not at Ponsonby Teeth, you’ll find her golfing, skiing, kiteboarding or playing tennis at Herne Bay Rackets.
Dr. Ann Mohan
Dental Assistant
Dr. Ann Mohan is a qualified dentist from Keerula, India who looks forward to one day qualifying in New Zealand. She joins Ponsonby Teeth as our Dental Assistant, Ann has a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry.
She recently moved over to Auckland with her husband and has relished in learning about, and becoming a part of our culture. The highlights being the friendly people and our lush nature.
A lover of the arts, in her spare time you'll find Ann singing or drawing.
Tyra Geraets
Receptionist
Tyra Geraets has grown up around dentistry, and is hoping to follow in her Mum's footsteps to join the field herself. A wealth of knowledge about, and passion for our patient-driven philosophy fuels her enthusiasm for this role.
Tyra has interests ranging from CrossFit, to painting, to travel and looks forward to chatting about these and more with the people of Ponsonby Teeth.
